A Different Kind of Love Letter

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
— Rumi

A COUPLE QUESTIONS.

What person, or thing, has bothered you or caused you pain recently (perhaps it’s even yourself)? How can you find more love towards that person or that situation?

One of the most profound lessons in my life has been the discovery of the boundless love inside my spirit—the one powerful asset that can heal any situation, no matter how disappointing or devastating. I believe this healing love exists inside us all.

In life, we are bound to have moments of disappointment or devastation—really, small doses of each are rather common. When I find myself in these moments, I try to tune inward and understand my barrier(s) that won’t allow me to access love. I think of barriers as fear-based shells that my ego creates to protect itself from feeling pain—but these shells are not helpful, nor are they real (egos create them). Only love is real.

Love is always there; it is only our barriers that keep us from tapping into it.

February is the month of love—and surely, love extends beyond roses, chocolates, romance. This month, let’s reflect on how we can access more love towards everyone, in any situation.

xoxo — Megan
